That's why Trump wanting Intel to get rid of the new CEO is funny. As far as I can tell they have almost no real way forward. China wouldn't waste time with this sps company.

They were total dicks when I interacted with them in 2023, during peak Biden. They were turning up their noses at incentives to do business with the Government, but the government was only asking for 28nm. They could be getting paid as contractors to run their old 28nm process right now, even if volume is low. They should have becum like General Dynamics behind the scenes and taken advantage of incentives that were RIGHT THERE. Very contemptuous of American workers too. All the engineers are foreign

It’s bizarre they didn’t make foundry services for other companies more of a business priority. Fabs are huge investments and only three companies have the resources to compete at leading nodes. Why let TSMC own this market?

No, actually. They had about as many people from shitstains like Brazil and Morocco as from India. They had recruiting offices in over 30 countries at that time. They didn't give a fuck where anyone was from

If 18a yields had been good it would have been like inventing cold fusion. Revolutionary. They still say they are launching chips made on the 18a node though. If that's true these chips will look like alien tech
