gas is like $4.25 where I live and it's been hovering between $3.00-$4.50 for like 15 years. idg what the big fuss is about other than libs being faggots yet again.

this can't even be disputed. CA has had super high gas prices for decades and it's due to Dem legislation and regulation.

The gap between regular and premium gas probably costs me more than any price fluctuations. I was talking to my boomer dad who has a Lexus GX and figured out that premium fuel "recommendations" are basically bullshit. the same car in the rest of the world has regular as the reco fuel but in America they recommend 93 octane in order to meet Obama's emissions standards.

i think this AI summary is correct.

====

The Growing Gap Over TimeHistorical Baseline: From 2005 to 2014, the difference between California's retail gas prices and the national average was generally contained within a \(\$0.30\) margin.

Mid-2010s to 2022 Spike: The premium began widening significantly around 2015.

By 2022, global supply shocks coupled with local refinery issues created record differences, pushing California’s prices over \(\$2.60\) above the rest of the country at peak times.

Current Trend: The U.S. national average typically fluctuates closer to the \(\$4.00\) mark, while California routinely surges past \(\$5.80\) to \(\$6.00\) per gallon, leaving a massive geographic and pricing divide.

the problem is that newsom is that gas is about $2, newsom is to be blamed for the next $5, and trump is to be blamed for the last $1

This is an example where both are true. Really wish there was a way to keep Californians from leaving California without mandating restrictions on movement
