All they had to do was be normal for four years and advance some good faith efforts to address the issues that had clearly won Trump the election, but no, they yearn for the boot on their necks because it gives them something to believe in when deep down they believe in nothing. Date: October 6th, 2025 4:59 PM Author: frozen hairy legs i dunno man. trump in '16 was sunny youth fueled "let's make this country clean and fun again and turn some of this stuff around" and i don't recall much that was done during that era that i disagreed with, sans the covid response and a couple of tax cuts. it was distinctly right wing but much more moderate trump '24 has been some "let's holocaust youth culture in pursuit of anally-retentive stakeholders' senses of normalcy" and i haven't really been able to support it. the people animating the administration now don't really seem to "get" what made it so successful in '16 and so you wind up with boomerbrained stuff like Vance memes getting poo pooed on FOX and endless parades of videos of brown mothers getting thrown onto the pavement with their kids two feet away. it doesn't feel good and where in the months after the election libs kind of stopped to listen a bit some of the more reactionary elements of the right took that moment of peace to step in and maul leftists as a whole the kirk stuff especially has been a "Ehhhh....this is turning into Con, Inc again" bunch of slop---which the cut away from was a major part of what animated Trump's successes throughout the last 8 years and i find it hard to support much of any of it when considering this |
