Switch 2 hasn’t even been around a year, and when it released it was the fastest selling Console ever iirc.
Death Stranding is good, the core gameplay loop is well done, the narrative can be interesting but has a bit of a pacing problem imo. I expect that they improved on this in the sequel.
The PlayStation is just…whatever. It is basically an econobox for people who don’t have or want PCs. At least Xbox has Play Anywhere, Quick Resume, Game Pass. I can’t believe people pay for “PS Plus”. Like if you MUST pay for network access you want to go to the big American Globocorp, not Sony. This is why “Nintendo Online” is only like $15 a year or something, they know they can’t ask for more.

It's $20 and it's 180.
"Pacing" is something that Losers complain about constantly with Film, and usually it means absolutely nothing and they just want to sound like they know what they're talking about. I think you're basically saying that the story doesn't progress mid-game. but if there are a ton of long cutscenes interspersed throughout a game, normies start to get restless. Bookending the game with cutscenes and letting you just Play for a while is basically what Kojima did in MGS3, and it was practically his best-received game.
PS Plus is useless but at least no one tries to argue otherwise. Gamepass is like an all you can eat buffet for 3 square meals a day. only viable for the most gratuitous consoomers.
Back when Nintendo had No Games with N64, they let us know what games were coming out years ahead of time. They stopped doing that in recent years, and it was nbd because they had Games. But now that they're back to releasing very, very few games, they should at least tell us what's coming out in 2026-2027 imho.

“they should at least tell us what's coming out in 2026-2027 imho”
But they did? Nintendo Direct does this afaik.
With DS I was in a state of confusion for most of the game, which is obviously intended and didn’t bother me so much, but I can see how people bounced off the game early. It is too oblique for mass appeal, which is fine by me. My only real complaint is that I’m near the end and I don’t really understand what “Amelie” even is, yet the narrative is suggesting I should be emotionally invested in Sam’s relationship to her. It might pay off later in some way idk.
