My dad who is a Nerd told me that he spends 1000 boomerbucks per day on Claude tokens. This is literally my inheritance swirling down the drain. I said please dear God tell me this isn't your personal money. He said no it is. I spend even more of my employer's.

😑

Boomer Dad: "There are three teams at my company who compete for most AI spend per quarter. I looked it up and there were two teams that were spending more than me. I thought, there is no way they are doing anything as interesting or as innovative as what I'm doing. But then I asked them to show me their projects. And it was. It was just as good if not better."

Near verbatim quote

The irony is that he has yet produce one thing of value despite thousands in spend and so many man hours he hasn't coded anything useful to humans or solved any ErdÅ‘z theorems. But it 'makes him feel smarter' and like he's chasing the wave of the future. To be fair, he had the same level of enthusiasm for Pokémon Go.

I use Venice AI, which allows you to interface with most of the models. Claude is pretty good but really slow for what it does

I was playing with that recently. I like how it has "heretic" and "uncensored" models

Cr I originally started using it about a year ago because it's less censored and because supposedly it only stores the convo history on your device. I was sold on it when a YouTuber I watch demoed it vs. ChatGPT on questions about 9/11 and COVID lol

I just discovered the Claude extension.

"Search my emails with John Smith and find all emails that reference X."

"Search Clio and find the 911 audio call."

Its fucking amazing.

I've played with it some. Fed it a 130 page incoherent document and asked it to extract data and present in spreadsheet form. It did that in about 30 seconds. I could have done it it really needed doing in a few hours. I can see how this stuff can be a productivity enhancer.

I had to pull out receipts and disbursements out of two Merrill Lynch investment accounts for a period of three years. Their statements for each account are about 12-13 pages of all sorts of shit, kind of hard to pull out the right stuff about of dozens of listed transactions.

It was able to pull out each monthly receipts and disbursement and a rolling balance on a spreadsheet in about 1 minute. Had a few minor issues with I checked it but overall did a great job. Saved me easily 4-6 hours of drudgery on something that I would not be able to bill for
