$4.04M

Mid-40s, married with kids.

Non-lolyer, flyover, enjoy my job mostly and not looking to retire early.

Decadent to splurge occasionally on business class going overseas?

On the biz class?

What’s the point at which it’s reasonable?

$3.63M net worth here, i think its reasonable to splash on biz class at this level and ill always buy biz for flights over 7 hours

$4M isn't a lot, sorry. Especially if you have multiple kids. You'll be fine but plenty of people way above you. Biz class seats especially for family are people who don't need to question it. Otherwise biz class seats are for people whose Biz or sponsor is paying for the ticket.

$4 million is more than enough to move somewhere you can put the kids to work to passively (for you) turn it into $5 million before they graduate, move out, and provide for themselves and your old age care

$4m in your 40s is good as long as you're still working and you have your money in the S&P or whatever. it'll be like $16 million by the time you're 60, and that's without adding anything.

no biz class.
