Christus Rex is better translated as Christ the King, which for a medieval feudal dude would mean recognition of Christ's authority and jurisdiction. The King is the ultimate authority in the world the feudal dude inhabits. Feudal dude abides.

The ancient Israelites anointed their kings with consecrated oil called “shemen ha-mishcha” (meaning “oil of anointment”) as part of their rituals of coronation. As a result, it was common to describe a legitimate king, such as King David, as “ha-Melech Mashiach” meaning “the King anointed” or even sometimes as “ha-Mashiach”. The Prophets of the Old Testament foretold that a descendant of David would one day become the saviour of the Jews, reunite the tribes of Israel, and rule as the divinely anointed king. The Rabbis of the Talmud often used the phrase “ha-Mashiach” as shorthand for this prophesied anointed king of the Jews.

Judaism doesn’t object to calling the Mashiach a king.
