Should I build a “dogtrot” style barndo family retreat on my mountaintop ran

Date: March 13th, 2026 6:17 PM Author: black abyss (definite and ineradicable gauge of its upward moving) I kind of like these dogtrot designs and it looks like you could do this and easily have two separate spaces for a second family or friends to come join you on your trip out to the mountains to enjoy the peace and quiet. I like that the barndos are a lot less maintenance than traditional housing units. Could get the barndo now and in a couple of years add decking, maybe a spa and a sauna/cold plunge if all goes well. Has anyone done this before? It seems like a big project, but how else are you going to enjoy this land? Right now I’m sure people are just hunting on it illegally. |
