Debt to cap for SBA 7a loans is like 90%. You can put in $500k and buy a $5 million business. Basically a Prole LBO

Scale biz repeat a couple of times then sell to PE for $$$$

They have low default rates and when you get to larger sizes in the millions you’re more likely to find actual established businesses instead of something entirely reliant on founder-proprietor labor

This is CR if you're the manager of a small business and are basically running it yourself already and want to buy it from the owner.

Otherwise, quite retarded.

Sounds like actual work where you’d have to sell something of value. Most poasters are parasitical risk-averse leeches

People are taking $500,000 loans with personal guarantees to buy brick-and-mortar businesses. LOL just LOL when the landlord refuses to renew the lease when it ends in 3 or 4 years.

The "just use an SBA loan to buy a business for 3-5x valuation, bro" trend is the dumbest financial advice since NFTs.

Nah just buy some asset-lite services business ala roofing or HVAC install/repair and sell to a PE-backed rollup after a few years.

but MAGAs online are absolutely furious that jeets are doing this. that's probably where OP gets the idea for this thread from.

I think a lot of people aren't actually built to run a small business and just fantasize about being CEO and the money they'll "make" when they sell to a PE firm or some shit.

Big difference between functional self-employment (which I am in favor of) and buying a business with employees using debt and a personal guarantee. Especially if you're buying into an industry where you have no experience.
