Some places around there to consider along with Aix, where I have never really spent any time are Cap Ferrat, San Remo (Italy), Portofino + Santa Margharita Ligure, Antibes (Hotel du Cap especially), Villa La Coste (in Aix), Cassis, Vence (I am currently at the Oetker property here for a detox break and it's 180000), Gordes. Nimes is also a surprisingly nice small city with some Roman history. Also could maybe do 1 night in Menton to eat at Mirazur. I also sometimes pop to Tourrettes and detox at Terre Blanche which is you're golfmo also has that available. Mougins is nice, Theoule-sur-mer, I mean there are OPTIONS. Can also reco some good spots in the town. In Marseille it's AM par Alexandre Mazzia and Le Petit Nice. Le Petit Nice is in a history (1917 vintage?) relais & chateau property of the same name and it's in the 6e of Marseille which feels more beach town than city. Going there for 1-2pm arrival, relax by the pool, walk around the hood, have dinner in-house, then go to bed and leave the next day would be fine.
