I'm in-house at a similar company and we hand out $1MM settlement offers for employment shit all the time. If the cases have any chance of ending up before a jury it's easily worth it. I saw my company pay a $7MM employment settlement for race-related shit that 100% did not happen. But this is a rounding error if you have a bad judge. Shit like this gets picked up and used against you in future cases if you don't settle them early. We lost a $20MM case for some shithead who was making like $750K per year and was passed over for a promotion. Employment litigation is wild.
