Date: March 16th, 2026 11:36 PM Author: Lab Diamond Dallas Trump 180 not flame. She was going back to work after being out on leave and we lost the mon/wed/fri nanny while she was out. She had been trying to hire another and dealing with a lot of nonsense from candidates who ghosted when she asked to interview them, and also the issue that we aren't in a densely populated area so there aren't that many candidates to begin with and some don't want to commute.
Anyways, she was running out of time to get someone and was desperate with no viable options, so she had to overpay to hire someone with relatively little experience and was bitter about it. I didn't know who the new nanny was, hadn't met her or seen pics, but I could sense some latent hostility every time my wife mentioned her.
Today was her first day, and I go downstairs to grab some lunch (wife and I are both WFH) and there is an objective 8.5 / 10 athletic, tanned, blonde 18 y/o stunner in the kitchen playing playdough with the kids, everyone seemingly having a blast. She seems super nice and professional and says the kids have been great. Normally there is a bit of a rough transition period with toddler tantrums when we get a new nanny. Everything seems to be going perfectly, which is how I know my wife absolutely WILL NOT STAND FOR THIS.
Later when we're both done with work and having dinner, the conversation immediately begins like this:
Her: I'm thinking of getting rid of the new nanny.
Me: Why? When I came down it seemed like she was doing a good job and the kids were happy.
Her: Because she's 18 years old and hot.
Me: That isn't fair. You knew what she looked like when you hired her.
Her: Well she was the only option, I didn't have a choice.
Me: Relax, it's actually better that she's 18 because I'm just an old man to her. No 18 yo is trying to steal a man with money and kids. It's the ones in their mid/late 20s that are homewreckers.
Her: But you don't look old...
She basically wants me to not ever be around or speak with this nanny, who SHE chose to hire. LMAO. Women are 180.

Women LOVE established guys with a stable life and what better move to make the JUMP to new wife without ever having to strive and take on the world. To be fair, they were legitimate grievances, but the wife's reaction to them was very disproportionate.
I don't think she likes having shitty nannies at all. The tuesday/thursday nanny is the "golden nanny" who the wife constantly praises and even kept her hired during leave so we could keep her. |

Apparently she baked a pie for them in our kitchen while on the job and used some of wife's spices and other cooking supplies without asking. I don't think that's acceptable.
This nanny was also supposed to be cleaning the while kid was napping (not maid work, cleaning up kid's toys and meals) and there were days where instead of cleaning up during this period, the nanny herself was napping.
I think these are legitimate complaints. The nanny wasn't doing part of the job she was hired to do. There were others that were more tenuous. For example, after cooking the pie, the nanny apparently washed wife's new cookware IN THE DISHWASHER when wife had been washing it by hand, and this was treated as its own outrage in addition to the pie. |
