What you think of my concept for a Twitch stream I'm about to try? The premise is "Choose my position and debate me." The format I'm thinking of is, a chatter chooses a stance for me to defend, and then they make their case first, arguing against their chosen stance (because if I have them go first then there won't be any ambiguity as to the intended scope of the position). Then we go back and forth from there. I set it up so I have a scrolling disclaimer on screen saying "This is an intellectual exercise with a position assigned by a viewer and does not (necessarily) represent my opinion" so that people don't clip me saying Hitler was great or whatever. I'm a girl with a goth + gamer aesthetic and an analytic philosophy background btw. |

Came to find 90% of bands only have one or two good songs that they ever made. Crazy to think of but nearly every huge band is a one or two hit wonder. I can't for the life of me think of one Goo Goo Dolls song that isn't Iris. The lesson here is that they're really only famous for one thing they ever did. It's the smush hits that really get to people. No one listens to the whole album and they never will. Only a small handful of bands ever wrote a complete body of work. Radiohead Led Zeppelin Beatles. Even in a sea of low success rate famous bands less than 10 had entire careers worthy of consuming. Really makes you think. Taking my son to wrestling, BJJ and Muay Thai practice 10x per week total (twice each M-T, then once F and once Saturday). Fretting that his mother, who is profoundly low functioning, has given him genes that will be very limiting. Getting a new woman pregnant who has a sky-high IQ and is truly beautiful. Just got a new business started in the mechanical trades, but now was offered a night-time position doing maintenance at a national landmark, and probably have to neglect the business. |
