The Sopranos was a great show marred by writers needing catchphrase type hooks in almost everything they do (yeah, fuck you Paulie Walnuts the character and not tp and Sil and others). Not to their credit, the entire run of episodes with Tony in the hospital is utter trash
TV can be great without being perfect, and over 5+ seasons, they collapse inward into caricaturing their cast and leaning into red meat for the fans, much to the detriment of sense and quality |
