Investors might get really lucky and hold onto a piece that skyrockets. Or they might get greedy and buy at the top of the market and lose their lunch in a crash. That's why it's such a tricky business. I really wouldn't recommend watches as a consistent investment opportunity. If sometimes you win big and sometimes you lose big it's a terrible business model. You never want that much volatility. There are a lot more stable investments in collectibles than watches. Being right in the market once isn't enough to sustain a business long term.
