From a practical standpoint, the police now serve to passively enable crime instead of actively deterring it. Normal people have to walk around eyes-wide-open because some sub-humans are allowed to wreck the QOL and may, at any point, become an active threat. And if they do:
1.) A bystander who does something about it risks being arrested for, effectively, doing the job the cops should do; or
2.) Someone is hurt / killed and the press and officials talk about how we need more mental health programs (literally just talking about mo money fo dem programs). When it's like "uhh nigga you guys are in office and have been for over a decade, the issue is sub-humans need to be subdued proactively."
IMO a full-on lawless NYC would actually be an improvement for the average person. For one, if some nigga on a subway (or wherever) started "wilin out", a bystander or two could just handle them. That, and the Money-Power could simply build a private police force to fully subdue the human detritus without repercussion.
Basically, they could do a private version of what Giuliani and Bloomberg did successfully for years. We know what works and it works well. |
