Work on your approach shots or your putting

You can be bad at one but not both

It's hard to practice putting

And nobody repairs ball marks on the courses I play

I’m not a good golfer but I did play in HS and was a practice guy / gopher in college.

My opinion is some people are just good at putting and some are not. Unless you have a ton of time on your hands it’s hard for a casual to really improve on it. Also if you’re playing not great courses the greens are unpredictable anyway. Cam Smith would probably be a shitty putter at my local garbage muni.

You can work on your irons and short game though. I would focus on that.

Yeah you're right. I've been working on chipping and trying to hit 100-150 targets at the range mostly lately

Ordered a PUTTr back in July that is finally shipping today, but it's still hitting it straight at a hole on level surface

But to elaborate on some people good, there is definitely an ability to translate spatial floor feeling from your feet to mental map on a cognitive level that people naturally have or learn better as a child than adult. I feel like I took too much mdma in the 00s to gain that function now

An 85 year old in a wheelchair using a croquet mallet could put up better putting stats than that

weird to track fairways and not GIR

golf is more fun tho when you drive it in play and aren't looking for your ball every single hole
