The key is you have to just get in a good school district and own a place no matter how shitty it is. We had a condo. Ended up selling it for a $200k profit now have a house. Now I make $600k but I never felt tight at $250k. Yeah you won’t live in a mansion in Scarsdale but you can grab a place in northern westchester and take the train to the city.
