Astoria? I guess that's nice. Crown Point or government camp are cooler. Coast from Portland should be cannon beach. Drive to McMinnville and see the spruce goose.

even though the ski season is done, mt. hood and timberline lodge have lots of hiking and rivers nearby.

the canonical tourist things to see would include mt. st. helens and the columbia river gorge (including the hikes above the gorge). a simple drive out past the dalles is interesting due to the change in landscape from forests to the high desert.

just walked by a homeless guy downtown who was sitting on a street corner propped up against a pole. next to him, as in literally touching him, was a cardboard box, blazing on fire. guy was barely even reacting to it.

there are so many fucking weirdos in this town. people all over the place talking to themselves, nodding out, etc.

this city is 180 otherwise tho. honestly, the homeless aren't even a threat as far as i can tell, they just walk around ranting at nobody. it's not pleasant to see this shit, but you can just ignore it.

drove out to astoria/cannon beach yesterday. i saw the goonies jail (now a film museum), goonies house, short circuit house, and that huge ass rock in the ocean from goonies.

the drive was 180. i was with my partner (junior in biglol who used to work for me as an associate). i like him but i'm starting to get tired of him on this trip.

i love oregon.
