A 51% (of stake) fradulent attack means the other 49% fork and slash the fraudulent stakes in their forked chain. Legitimate users and exchanges will use the 49% chain on a go-forward basis. The old 51% chain becomes as relevant as Ethereum Classic.
Philosophically, Vitalik has long been very pro-fork. |
