Option A: No bailout. Burn some investors to try to put the fear of God into coders, so that they start vetting contracts better.
Option B: Too Big To Fail, special hardfork just to fix parity. Moral hazard.
Option C: Include a parity fix in the Constantinople hardfork. Moral hazard, but at least the parity investors lose time value of money.
Option C is probably best, if it incentivizes Constantinople being finished on time. But, Option A might be needed to ensure that smart contracts get better auditing.
Better auditing is crucial for the long term fundamental value of Ethereum. |
