I was about to drop some $$$ into PRF but backed out at the last minute. Sucks that you not only have to account for the risk in a very bubbly market but also deal with shady exchanges that can wipe your cash out |

PFR and the majority of the other "altcoins" that get discussed on XO are not really "coins," per se--they're properly called "ERC20 tokens," because they are essentially just dapps that run on Ether. (A counterexample is Ripple, which isn't an ERC20 token, so you can't store it on MEW.)
2. You can safely store *any* Ether-based token on MEW. In fact, if you open up a MEW, you'll see that a bunch of the most popular Ether tokens are already listed. Literally all you do is transfer them over from your ED (or any other) wallet to your MEW, and they will show up there.
3. You're correct that PFR isn't one of the ones listed, since it's still new and doesn't have a ton of traction yet. If it *really* moons, it will likely be added to their automatic drop-down list of Ether tokens at some point. But you don't have to wait; you can just custom-add it to your wallet right now using these simple instructions: https://myetherwallet.github.io/knowledge-base/send/adding-new-token-and-sending-custom-tokens.html Once you have custom-added it, you can transfer PFR tokens into MEW and they will be stored and display just fine.
NOTE: If you're nervous about potentially fucking up something during the process when you're setting up the custom-add PLR function, just do a very small test transfer once you think you've done it--i.e., send 10 PFR from your ED wallet over to your MEW wallet. If they populate on your MEW wallet, congratulations--you didn't fuck it up and you can safely transfer the rest. Like I said, I have 200k of those suckers stored on MEW at this very moment. I couldn't sleep at night if they were just sitting out on an ED wallet. |
