Date: February 6th, 2018 12:29 PM Author: cheese-eating hell degenerate my point is it's virtually impossible to put any sort of number on this for many years. until ethereum (or other cryptos) is actually used for its primary intended purpose of being a distributed computing system (or medium of exchange in the case of e.g. monero), and the transaction speed is SHARDINGUPGRADED, things will flop around based on the whims of korea and china. it's very hard to get a grasp on the velocity of (crypto) money when 99% of the flow is in speculation instead of usage. the money from merchant banks backing visa doesn't need to be on the order of trillions in reserves; on the other hand, nobody is trying to hoard that money either.
is it more than 60 billion? probably, maybe? it's a worthwhile gamble, assuming benevolent dictator buterin keeps eth on top of n competitors. |
