Hi there,
I'm a rising 2L at HLS and am putting together my bid list for EIP. I have 3 H's and 7 P's and want to work in New York. I know that the top 15 New York firms are likely out of my reach (say, all the way to Milbank, Tweed, etc or Paul, Hastings) and so while I don't plan on bidding on those firms, I'm not really sure at what point on the list firms start becoming realistic options.
Does anyone have advice as to what point on the rankings I should focus my attention, any firms in particular that seem like good targets, etc? Any advice would be much appreciated -
Thanks a lot -

I got the H's in Legal Research and Writing, Civil Procedure and my International Law Elective. P's in everything else.
Even after thinking about it a lot, I don't have a clear ideas as to what I'm interested in. The large, generic fields of litigation and corporate law are both somewhat intriguing to me, but I don't think I'll really have a better idea until after getting some actually work experience in a particular area (which is why I don't plan to be too discriminate when it comes to practice areas when bidding.)
I assumed that given the economy and my average grades, that starting bidding at the 15th or 20th highest ranked NYC firm was appropriate (but I guess it may be a bit pessimistic?) Any perspectives would be helpful.
Thanks

cool thanks.
so you think starting to bid at Allen & Overy (Vault: 35th overall, 18th in NYC) and then roughly going down the list for new york firms would be a decent approach?
thanks again for the feedback guys
