I was 13 and playing SNES. Nobody had internet or cell phones. I saved my money to buy a book of cheat codes for Final Fantasy. Life was fun and innocent.

My little league team played for the championship and we all got Crystal Pepsis for the ride to the pizza place with all the arcade games that the coaches had bought out so we played for free by pressing the red button - no quarters needed.

Every time I got a ride to the mall with some friends or my parents, I'd slide by the vendor cart selling pogs and slammers. I'd stuff enough slammers in my pockets so that my pants would start to slide down and then I'd slink off.
Once, I got caught by a "school teacher" who said that she saw me across the way just stuffing merchandise in my pants. It was true. I remember I thought to myself, this vendor will go easy on me if he thinks that I'm just a klepto, so I tried to play that up. Seems like it worked. Mall security just escorted me to my parents and gave them a stern lecture/told them I wasn't allowed to wander the mall without supervision.

I went to a ny Rangers game with my dad on a school night in March 1994. We got home really late. They beat the Hartford whalers. In June the Rangers won the cup for the first time since 1940. Best pro sports event if my life, nothing will top that.
