The Nazis fatal flaw, imho, was blind hatred of Jews regardless of their patriotic credentials, which severely crippled their scientific resources. That combined with a tendency to alienate everyone they occupied meant that their base of supporters could never grow regardless of how high their native birthrate was.
And of course no one remembers (ie the truth has been flushed down the memory hole) that fascism arose because of the hysteria over communism. Like all hysterical movements, fascism was brutal and illogical, but then again given 100 million people murdered by their own governments under communism, can you blame people for being scared of it? |
