99 percentile on both the LSAT/SAT, common?

I think 99th percentile is not very many standard deviations above the mean, but I've never scored low enough on a standardized test to wonder how many above a 99th percentile score is. Something like that, plus the extent to which you think SAT/LSAT correlates with IQ and the extent to which you think IQ measures genius at all accurately should help. http://www.robertniles.com/stats/stdev.shtml - first link that came up on a search, suggests 3 ~ 99th percentile, so maybe you are a genius. |

I think we can agree that Einstein would qualify. What seems far less likely is that one out of very 100 people who take the SAT should qualify, since this would indicate thousands of newly identified "geniuses" every year. At that point, the word no longer means much. |

but actually im more concerned with how common the 99/99 is, moreso than if you're a genius or not. i kinda was just wanting to see if the people who scored 99/99 thought of themselves as very very smart. :) |

Still, without an official definition of genius, I don't think you can conclude anything. To me a genius is more like a 1 in 10,000 thing, or maybe one in 100,000. |
