Wolf:

(1) Is Governor of a crucial swing state, which he won by 10% in the GOP year of 2014 and will crush in 2018. Very likely would take Pennsylvania out of play;

(2) Has rural appeal, coming from legit Are Country in York, PA, where he still lives in the house where he grew up;

(3) Boring protestant white dude who won't alienate moderates based on identity politics shit;

(4) Very smart dude who is intellectually ready from primetime, with an MIT Ph.D. (in politttical science, but proles will just hear "MIT PhD");

(5) Is a soft-spoken intellectual type (albeit without the big city snobbishness) that could contrast well with Trump for voters following the "vote for the opposite of the last guy" theory of voting;

(6) has business experience, having come to the rescue of what had been his family business (not 100% clear on this, but I think his parents sold it to private equity and then he bought it back to save it when it was about to go bankrupt) -- and the family business is a good wholesome domestic manufacturer of cabinets and shit like that;

(7) in what will be a very compelling story line you will hear 24/7, and which will be used to contrast him with Trump, he famously instituted profit sharing for blue collar workers at his company, sharing 20-30% of profits with employees;

(8) refuses chauffeur and drives stick-shift jeep everywhere; and

(9) married to same woman for 42 years and counting.

Probably can't get through the primary, although he was in the peace corps and has a daughter with a nose ring, so maybe he'll have a little shitlib appeal in a year where they are desperate to win and there is at least some thought to trying to win back the white working class.
