Completely agree. There should only be one Olympics event to see who can swim the fastest. No one swims like a frog in real life.

Same for running then. No need for different distances. Just the 100 m.

100m and marathons since they are grandfathered in. Everything else doesn’t matter.

Not comparable. Different distances is fine. What happens in swimming if you moved it to track would be like if one race you ran normal, one race you hopped, another race you skipped, etc. Just run normal all the time. They should swim normal (freestyle) all the time.

It’s fine for leisure but for the Olympics it’s whoever is fastest. Don’t even get me started on this “medley” disaster. So not ready to get ForceMemed swimming and gymnastics for two weeks.

Jules' lyrics are a bit incoherent at times, bordering on freestyle, but really he would not have made it big without the other Strokes

They should bring in other kinds of swimming races to replace them.

-A vertical swimming race where you swim down to a deep depth, touch the bottom and come back up.

-Swimming "hurdles" where you have to dive under walls in the pool

-A swimming "marathon" in an ocean or lake where you have to swim for multiple miles

Technically, freestyle isn’t a stroke. You can do anything in the free. I once saw a swimmer do butterfly in the free.

Butterfly is alpha. difficult stroke to master and anyone who is good at it commands respect imo
