Christ, it's going to be like CLS all over again, except in the summer. I wonder how many of the 13 CLS people are selfish 2Ls in FedCourts. You should ask to see people's schedules so you can identify the selfish pricks immediately and try to get them no-offered.

I know someone at UVA this year who got a callback, but no offer who was slightly below the median. I also know of someone last year who got an offer who was definitely in the bottom quarter. I don't mean to diss Gunderson - I just think they emphasize things other than GPA, which is refreshing.

FUCKING COCKSUCKER PARENTS NEVER TOLD ME ANYTHING BUT "MAKE GOOD GRADES." NEVER GOT ANYTHING FROM THEM BUT BAD VIBES.

DO I GET A GIRLFRIEND TO FUCK AND EAT WITH, TO SEE A FILM WITH, TO HELP ME GET MY MIND OFF OF THIS HORRIBLE LIFE?

PRESTIGIOUS DEGREES, HONORS. SMOKING ENOUGH WEED EVERY DAY TO BLIND A FUCKING ELEPHANT. PORNOGRAPHY WITHOUT END. NONE OF THIS HELPS WORTH A FUCK.

FUCK YOU ALL. I HOPE YOU ALL GET CANCER AND FUCKING DIE. I HOPE YOU GET ALL YOUR DREAMS, AND THEN FIND A FUCKING TUMOR ON THE BASE OF YOUR SPINE THAT'S INOPERABLE.

IF YOU HAVE CHILDREN, I HOPE THEY FUCKING GET KILLED IN A VIOLENT, PAINFUL WAY IN FRONT OF YOUR EYES.

I WANT TO CAUSE EVERYONE PAIN (I OUGHT TO JOIN THE REPUBLICAN PARTY, BUT I'VE LOST MY NERVE, NOT MY WIT).

WHEN I SEE STUPID LOOKING FAGGOT COCKSMOKERS WITH 6 WORD VOCABULARIES AND TTT DEGREES FROM MISSOURI STATE WALKING AROUND WITH BEAUTIFUL, POLISHED CUMDUMPSTERS...IT JUST BOILS MY FUCKING BLOOD.

I'VE BECOME MORE AND MORE VIOLENT OVER THE LAST YEAR. WHEN THAT WHORE TOTALLY FUCKED ME OVER, I SCREAMED FOR 5 MINUTES INTO HER VOICEMAIL. I TOLD THAT FUCKING CUNT SOMETHING SHE'LL NEVER FORGET.

I WAS IN A THEATRE A FEW WEEKS LATER, AND SOME FUCKING NIGGER BROUGHT IN A SCREAMING BASTARD, AND I YELLED "GET HIM THE FUCK OUT OF HERE, ASSHOLE." WHEN HE STARTED YELLING AT THE PACKED HOUSE, I KEPT MY MOUTH SHUT. BUT I WISH SOMEONE WOULD HAVE POINTED TO ME, SO I COULD HAVE KILLED THAT MOTHERFUCKER.

FUCK, I NEED SOME PUSSY. I'LL BE POSTING HERE STONED FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE. DO YOU THINK IF I GO TO OXBRIDGE THAT I'LL STOP POSTING HERE? FUCK, IF I GET INTO A PHD AT YALE I'LL STILL BE POSTING ON THIS TOILET, BECAUSE MY PARENTS FUCKED ME UP, BITCHES DON'T LOVE ME, AND I'M GOING TO FUCKING PUNISH YOU ALL FOR IT, COCKSUCKERS.

how many firms will have more from CLS than GDC's 13 (out of 29)?

based on Skadden having 15 out of 180, I'm guessing probably only Cravath, S&C, DPW, STB, Cleary, Latham NY?

I feel like it depends on how we assess the prestige of the canadian schools. Still, no-HYS, 10-14s heavy with Cornell/GULC, and "local ttts" which don't even fall in the 20-35 (I think they're actually TTTs), doesn't look great.

2.667, not counting the duke 1L and assuming case western and arizona are t1. (we probably should've made a separate category for t15-25 + BC+ fordham but not including iowa/washington/wustl, and then a spearate category for bad t25s + t25-100; don't think it'll endup being fair for Cali firms that have a ton of UCLA/USC or Texas w/ UT to get only 2 points per when some firms will come in with tons of kids from WUSTL and Work Forest. having those schools in same category as ucla/usc/texas is unfair.)

throw in the extra category, and either knock category above it up 1 or every category below it down 1 (this would result in TTT's being worth -1, but that's ok). Write the result as, for example:

LIPTON 2.34

so that can indicate it's your method and not my original one. i'm not sure you want to redo the calculations for old firms though.

Does anyone have any recommendations for the format, changes, etc.? I'm open to recommendations before the statistics get out of control and I don't want to edit them.

For future reference, I'll be included a Selectivity Index and a Regional Ranking based on the Vault rankings. Also, I'll do a firm-for-firm comparison to 2006 for firms with reported SAs both years, which should give us a great window into rising/falling law schools in various Vault categories.

Does this bother many people? I figure the most important firms will generally be near the top and makes the format more readable. If people want a specific firm, it's easy to Ctrl+F it, because all posts are on the main page.

yeah... in fact, it would be a pretty poor showing for chicago if there were only eight students in the 2L class who could get jobs basically anywhere. i'd think that should be true for the entire top 10-20% of the class.

This definitely includes NY, don’t know if it includes DC as well.Obviously, a lot of these could be undergrad e-mail addresses. Additionally I’m not sure what the Canadian e-mail addys are...undergrad e-mail addresses? Yahoo/gmail/hotmail/earthlink ones could go anywhere.

Anyone know what the deal is with Canadian educational institutions? Do American firms take their law students or are they undergrand e-mail addresses?

To some extent, I buy the NYU kids are less inclined to work at Cravath argument. They could probably place at least 15 if they wanted to. I'll troll for CLS and say that NYU couldn't get as many, but that much of a disparity has to be partly self-selection.

I agree that just because a firm lists summer associates it by no means more people from that school weren't offered jobs. I have a friend who turned fown W&C for a decidedly less prestigious firm in a location he liked a lot better.

what all of these lists fail to account for is the quality of student from each school. some of these firms could get 100+ NYU students if they gave offers to the top 95% of the class.

Quality of students is taken into account by combining a.) the prestige of the firm with b.) the relative proportion of the students from a school going to that firm.
